- The Four Arrows group travelled to British Columbia from Mexico and Guatemala in August 1978 with the mission of re-unifying the Indigenous peoples of North America. They spent a night at the Vancouver Indian Centre before arriving at UBCIC offices for a presentation and lunch, followed by dance, music, and discussions. After leaving Vancouver they went on to travel to Mission, Halat, Alert Bay, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Victoria, and Chehalis.
