Item is a photograph of an orange truck on a dirt road at Gold River, British Columbia. The snapshot shows the truck that looks like a large dumptruck from a distance parked behind several trees. The truck may belong to the Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill.

Context

Gold River was constructed in the 1960s to house families for the newly constructed Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill, located where the mouth of the Gold River meets Muchalat Inlet. Pollution from the pulp mill soon became a problem causing health issues for nearby residents and interfering with fishing. The Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill no longer exists.
